great location to explore Shropshire and Wales, the BH team deliver a great customer experience. Clearly targeting quality, the room furnishings, refreshments and food were fantastic. The BH team have got it right. We'll be back. "Excellence food & service" 2 days ago Reviewed by Tracey C A warm welcome from the hosts, chatted with us from the start. Food was fab, all meals came out together and were hot. Would definitely recommend the Boars head to eat or just for a drink

Fantastic place to stay" 2 days agoReviewed by LoriRidgway I thoroughly recommend the Boars Head to stay, the rooms are spotless and well serviced, the food and drink in the pub is excellent, and we could not have been made more welcome. Everyone is really friendly and attentive, and I have returned many times. The Boars Head is always my first choice of places to stay when in the area.

“Good short stay B&B” Reviewed 4 days ago NEW The room was one of 4 in the courtyard. There is ample free parking adjacent to the room. There is a small entrance porch with exterior light and a bathroom off to the left. The other door from the porch leads into the twin bedded room. The room was a good size, well furnished, looked to have been recently decorated and was very clean. There was a TV, hospitality tray and a Roberts radio but I was unable to get decent radio reception. Similarly there was no mobile signal. (O2). The beds were very comfortable with extra bedding in the wardrobe (didn't need it), There were 2 easy chairs in the room. The bathroom was a good size with basin, WC and over bath shower. The shower had two outlets, fixed overhead and a movable head on a chromed flexible tube. The flow was quite powerful and the temperature easily adjusted. At full heat it would have been scalding take care and move away when adjusting the temperature. Meals were in the pub dining area on the opposite side of the carpark. A light breakfast is included in the room charge and a full English £6.99 which I think needs to be ordered the night before. The food was good with quite an extensive menu, well cooked and generous portions. The landlord (Steve) was friendly and always seemed to have time for a chat. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g736829-d1547953-r511844686-The_Boars_Head_Hotel-Bishops_Castle_Shropshire_England.html#

"Warm Welcome " yesterdayReviewed by Richard-de-G Very warm welcome from staff, traditional surroundings and good cream tea, very DOG FRIENDLY and helpful. Service efficient and prices very reasonable. Poor mobile phone coverage in the area, so pop in for a drink/bite to eat and get some access via WiFi There's accommodation, but we didn't check this out, but based on what we saw I'd recommend checking it out. The pub has a family friendly area, so for those who like to sit away from noisy children etc the bar area is great and it's refreshing to see a pub acknowledge that families and non family people have different needs from the premises. Anyhow well worth the visit, we'll return again when back in Shropshire.
