Second Visit Review of The Boar's Head Hotel Reviewed 2 days ago Every bit as good as the first visit. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was great and the portions generous. A good range of ales to suit all tastes. The weather was atrocious but the welcome was warm. Stayed: September 2018, travelled with friends

Yes Comments about this property A delightful oasis of calm, comfort and excellent food and service Tips for other travellers the walks in and around Bishops Castle are tremendous in the Shropshire Hills and if nothing else is achieved, the views are phenomenal as is the fresh air. Do visit the Museum on Crutches - what a delightful place and such charming volunteers that give all the history of this unique building, hidden among the little back streets of the Town. More the pity that only a small section of the wall of the Bishop's castle still survives as an open space/garden.

"Sunday Lunch" yesterdayReviewed by Doreen S Enjoyed Sunday lunch with friends at this very welcoming and extremely friendly pub. There was a good menu for lunch and it was all served quickly and hot. Requests were met without any difficulty and everything was served with a smile. We all enjoyed banter and jokes with the owner and we would have no hesitation in going back there if we are in the area again- would even like to give the hotel a try.
